Like the singer Meatloaf said, "Two out of
three ain't bad" - that's Carolina RibKing's
record in theTexas Pete Twin City RibFest
having taken the Grand Champion title in
2006 and 2008. Last year he also took
home the trophy for best sauce. The
Carolina RibKing is really Solomon
Williams, a South Carolina griller who
started barbecuing as a hobby and began
competing in cook-offs about ten
years ago.
Checkered Pig Video
(Martinsville, VA)
Checkered Pig BBQ won Best Sauce at
the 2006 Shiner Bock Twin City RibFest
and People's Choice in 2007.
Checkered is a national competition
cooking team based out of racing
country in southern Virginia. They travel
all over the United States serving award
winning ribs. They are the 2004 winners
of the Best in the West Rib cook-off in
Reno, Nevada.
Pigfoot Video

Family owned and operated, Pigfoot
claims to have the most meaty and
tender ribs on the BBQ circuit. Pigfoot is
known for their award winning St. Louis
style ribs, lean and tender pulled pork,
and seasoned boneless chicken breast

has served BBQ lovers throughout the
United States and has won numerous
awards in Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio

Sgt. Oink's BBQ Video

Sgt. Oink's won the Grand Champion
award at the 2007 Texas Pete Twin City
RibFest.
They are a national cooking team that
has competed nationally for over 11
years. During its experience Sgt. Oink's
has competed against some of the best
cookers in the nation. In all, Sgt. Oink's
has won over 40 awards.
Dr. Brownstone's BBQ
(Winston-Salem)
Tim Grandinetti, executive chef of the
Twin City Quarter and his Brownstone's
BBQ team competed for the first time
in last year's Texas Pete Twin City
RibFest and won the People's Choice
Award. They also came in 2nd in the
judging for Grand Champion.
Willingham's World
Champion BBQ
(Minneapolis, MN.)
From 1983 - 1991, John Willingham,
won almost every BBQ award there
was to win. In 1992 John brought his
entire BBQ rig from Memphis to
Minnesota for the first annual Twin
Cities Rib Fest. During this event, the
lines of people at the Willingham’s
was awarded the 1st Place People’s
choice award. What astounded
everyone was that Willingham's BBQ
had garnered more customer votes
than all other 13 BBQ vendors
combined! That single moment
became the inspiration behind World
Champion Foods.
SMOKIN' JOE'S RIBS Video
(Columbus, Ohio)
A little bit of love and Smokin' Joe's
famous meat rub are two key
ingredients this grilling team relies
upon! Joe Jackson cooks his racks
over cherry wood in an open
charcoal pit. Joe's smoker produces
a cloud of smoke that can be seen
for miles and beckons rib lovers to
follow the mouthwatering smell. This
Columbus, Ohio, native has been
serving his flamin' good rib recipe to
Clevelanders since 1999. Bring your

They're not fat, they're big boned!
This southern team comes into
the Twin City with great credentials
including Grand Champion at the
2008 Fort Wayne BBQ Ribfest.
My Happy Place BBQ
(Columbus, Ohio)
Although their team is new, Lisa
and Jacob Stephens are no BBQ
novices. Lisa has long been a part of
her dad's award-winning team , Sgt.
Oink's and Jacob, a transplanted
Dane has logged countless hours
working first on Joey Sutphen's Texas
Thunder team and then with Sgt.
Oink's. By the way, they've already
won a championship.
Smokin Rednecks BBQ
(St. Petersburg, FL.)
We’re an old southern Bbq team.
We travel across the nation doing
competitions and events. Meeting
people and serving our southern
style Bbq and sauces is what were
all about. Our main goal is to bring
you our old southern smoked Bbq,
just to see if there’s a little redneck
in you.


Bibs Downtown
(Winston-Salem, NC)
Bib’s downtown is a labor of love for
food and Winston-Salem. Co-Owner’s
Ricky Seamon and Robert Moreau
hatched the idea while on vacation
in April 2006. Just acquaintances at
time, Ricky and Robert to their
surprise, had very similar ideas on the
perfect restaurant for Downtown
Winston-Salem.
Our pitmaster Mark Little has a rich
history of cooking and living in
Winston-Salem. Born in Winston-
Salem, NC Mark comes from a long
line of cooks. His father and
Grandfather worked together at
Williams & Company Meat Market at
the Downtown City Market in the
1920's and 30's. His Uncle cooked in
several downtown restaurants starting
at the age of 13.
